About The Market

The Made With Magic Market was created by Emma McCarty, owner of Earth & Elm and Joelle Bourque, owner of Wild Earth Photography. We are two creative nature based women who decided to host a spiritual based market together.

It started off in 2023 as an idea for a small 8 vendor market in Joelle's photography studio. Life had different plans. After Joelle had an unforeseen studio change, we started looking into rental spaces.

We originally looked at the small stage in the Scott Block Theatre thinking of hosting a very small market, and ended up falling in love with the main stage vibe. We decided to take the leap and financial gamble to head right into a larger first market. We planned and hosted in the fall of 2024.

While creating this experience we knew we wanted to be different than other markets. We wanted this to be an experience. For both vendors and attendees.

Joelle coming from her retreat and workshop experience, and Emma coming from her own vendor experience came together to dream up a way of doing things differently.

We knew it had to be the vibe. We wanted low lights, healing frequencies, community and more. We envisioned a healing environment and experience for everyone attending to truly get the most out of a community experience.

And.... it worked! The first market was a hit. We got the most amazing feedback. Our cheeks hurt from smiling. We both left the market with hearts bursting with gratitude and excitement of what was to come.

Instantly we inquired about December dates, but unfortunately Scott Block was fully booked. We took that as a sign, and little did we know it was a well needed sign. Joelle was about to lose her mom. Joelle's mom passed X weeks after our market. We took a step back and Joelle took the time she needed to grieve and process the loss. We would like to take a moment to honour her life and thank her for her addition to not only Joelle's life but also the creation of our creation.

We are now stepping into 2025. Slowly coming out of winter hibernation and processing grief. We start prepping for our second and upcoming spring market.

After learning what worked and didnt work in the fall market, we make changes and add a Gatherer's Grove. A space to connect and come together. We had such great feedback at the first market. Most attendees didn't want to leave. We decided to create a space just for this.

Our second market was a hit. We had 222 people come through the doors in the first day and ended up with 363 attendees total between the weekend. Our hearts and buckets were overflowing. At the very end of our market we found a small chicken keychain someone had placed on our altar. Joelle's mom owned hundreds of chickens and was the chicken lady. With tears of laughter we realized that she was right there with us cheering us on with our second success.

We now step into the fall and winter of 2025. We have Scott Block Theatre booked for both fall and winter. We have grown from an idea of 8-10 vendors to a 34 vendor healer workshop event. With so many ideas flowing, we cannot wait to keep bringing together this community of like-minded individuals. We are creating something for everyone.
